Löckermoos

The Löckermoos is a marsh located in the highlands above Gosau.

An approximately 90 mins. hike up from the village, past traditional stone quarries, the moor has a small lake (Löckersee) in the middle and offers a panoramic view towards the Gosaukamm range to the South.

Until around 15-20 years ago, the Löckermoos was unknown to visitors, only gaining more fame recently as a part of a state exhibition (2008) and a concerted effort to promote local tourism via TV (2017). Although this has resulted in the construction of a fence to protect the moor lake from visitors, the moor is still worth a visit.

Note: I do not recommend you to hike up there to shoot nightviews. My family's hut is close-by, which allows me to go up there at night.
