Ōta Shrine
大田神社

A small shrine along the northern mountains, Ota Shrine is most famous for its Iris pond dating back to the Heian Period. Every May, hundreds of Iris flowers bloom at the shrine. If you are in Kyoto in May and want to see some Iris flowers, I recommend visiting this place.

Admission: shrine grounds free to visit, pond area open in May for 300 Yen
Nearby places of interest: Kamigamo Shrine, Nishimura Villa
