Takenaka Inari Shrine
竹中稲荷神社

This little Shintō shrine lies on the top of Mt. Yoshida, on the way from Yoshida Shrine to Shinnyo-dō. Same as the more famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, it is dedicated to the fox kami. Several red Torii lead up to the (very small) shrine. This approach, however, is lined with cherry trees, and for a few days every spring, becomes a (in the meanwhile rather well-known) secret spot for cherry blossoms.

Admission: open year-round
Nearby places of interest: Yoshida Shrine, Shinnyō-dō
