Iwaya-ji
岩屋寺

A quiet temple belonging to the Sōtō branch of Zen Buddhism, Iwaya-ji is perhaps most beautiful during the spring season, when the massive weeping cherry on its grounds is in full bloom. Situated right next to Oishi Shrine, the temple is a bit hard to reach, and does not offer much beyond the cherry tree. Nevertheless breathtakingly beautiful during the mornings in spring and definitely worth visiting if you find yourself in the area during blossom season.

Admission: open year-round
Nearby places of interest: Oishi Shrine.
